Six bottles arrive. You taste without knowing. You reveal when you are ready.
Every release is six wines — each one wrapped, sealed and numbered. You taste them blind, then reveal each bottle when you are ready.
A label shapes a tasting experience before the bottle is open. The producer name, the region, the vintage, the price — all of it creates expectation that colours what arrives in the glass.
Hidden Bottle Collective removes that influence entirely. The wine is tasted under conditions that give it every opportunity to be judged honestly. The label — and everything it carries with it — appears only after the glass has had its say.
Six bottles, wrapped and numbered — each one anonymous. No label, no producer name, no region visible. The only information you have is the number on the tag. The wine is what you came for. Everything else is held back until you have earned it.
Open each bottle when you are ready. Pour, observe, taste. Form an opinion — about the weight, the character, the mood of the wine — without the bias a label would bring. Taste alone, or with people you trust. In one evening or across several. There is no rule except that you taste before you reveal.
When you are ready, scan the QR code on the numbered tag. The winery appears. The vintage, the region, the people behind the wine, the story of how it was made. Everything arrives at once — at the moment you have chosen, when your curiosity is at its highest. Some bottles will confirm your impression. Some will not.
The reveal page is an introduction, not just information. It links directly to the producer — their website, cellar door, or mailing list. Anyone who wants more of a wine can pursue it immediately. The connection belongs to them.
Each bottle in every Hidden Bottle Collective release has its own dedicated reveal page — built around that specific wine and vintage. It is accessed by scanning the QR tag, at the moment you choose.
Winery story. Vintage notes. The people involved. A direct link to the producer. The reveal page is designed to be read after tasting — an arrival of information rather than a sales pitch.
The reveal begins when you scan.
Hidden Bottle Collective plans around two major curated releases each year. Each release becomes the current collection and stays available to buy while stock remains — so if you discover us weeks or months after a release, you can still get it.
There is no ordering window to catch, and no membership required to purchase. It is not a subscription: you choose each release on its own. Smaller or one-off collections may follow in time, but nothing is promised beyond the current release.
Considered wines, chosen for character and a sense of place — wines that have something to say when tasted on their own terms. We do not target a single variety, style or region.
Hidden Bottle Collective selects every wine independently — for quality, character, and how well it rewards a blind tasting. We source through legitimate channels and choose wines because they deserve to be discovered. Some producers also collaborate on the reveal, but that is never a condition of selection. Read how we select.
Shipments are delivered by courier across New Zealand. Shipping costs vary by region and are confirmed at checkout. An adult signature is required on delivery. Wine is not left unattended.
No. Hidden Bottle Collective is not a subscription wine club. We plan around two considered releases a year, and each is purchased on its own — no locked subscription, no automatic charge, no commitment beyond the release you buy. When a release is live, the current collection stays available while stocks last, and you don’t need to be a member or have registered beforehand to purchase it.
The first Hidden Bottle Collective release is being built now. If you would like to be considered for the founding member cohort, let us know.
